Our free annual celebration making space for everyone
Through our festivals, we showcase live performers, hands-on workshops, and inspiring conversations that champion sustainability in all its forms. Each festival is a chance for Nottingham’s communities to learn, connect, and celebrate the planet we share, whilst growing more connected and empowered together.

Common Ground
Old Market Square
2024 brought more of the good stuff - innovative installations, live art, interactive discussions, and collaborative performances that highlight new ways for Nottingham to tackle climate challenges. Join us and be part of the story as we grow together into 2025…
Bigger, bolder, and greener than ever
The slow fashion catwalk
In 2024, we got funky with our fabrics and brought slow fashion to the streets of Nottingham with the Fabric of Life Catwalk. This wasn’t just about clothes—it was a full-on celebration of craft, heritage, and sustainability. We showcased the incredible work of local designers, upcyclers, and textile artists who are reimagining fashion—one stitch at a time. From upcycled denim to hand-painted jackets, every piece on the runway had a story to tell. It was bold, it was playful, and it was all about making fashion fun without costing the earth. With every strut, twirl, and power pose, we proved that style and sustainability can go hand in hand. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love an excuse to dress up and show off some eco-friendly flair?

Thriving Together
Old Market Square
For the 2023 Festival we took the big step up to Old Market Square, taking the love, joy, and creativity into the heart of Nottingham. We brought together musicians, artists, environmental experts, and local businesses to share ideas, enjoy creative displays, and ignite a passion for sustainability among visitors - both incidental and intentional.
Taking the conversation into the heart of Nottingham
World of Work day
In 2023, we took a deep dive into what a greener, fairer economy could look like at our World of Work Day at NTU Dryden Enterprise Centre. This wasn’t your typical business conference—this was a miniature festival of workplace-based climate action, bringing together business leaders, creatives, and changemakers to explore bold new ways of doing things. From inclusive leadership and carbon-neutral journeys to rethinking transport and biodiversity in business, we sparked conversations on how workplaces can be at the heart of positive, sustainable change.

Celebrating Sustainability
Sneinton Market
With lockdowns lifting, our 2021 festival was the first such event in Nottingham to bring people back together out in the open. We blended live performances with fitness, threw creative sessions with sustainable food, showed off fun gadgets like our pedal powered stage with good old-fashioned green fingered fun. Focusing on championing diverse local voices we helped restore our community.
Reconnecting communities safely and sustainably
Our Pedal powered stage
In 2021, we got Nottingham moving—literally—with our Pedal-Powered Stage. This wasn’t just a gimmick; it was a full-blown, sweat-powered, climate-positive party. Festival-goers jumped on bikes to generate the electricity that powered live performances, DJ sets, and spoken word sessions, proving that when we come together, we can make real, sustainable energy—one pedal stroke at a time. The vibes were electric (without the fossil fuels), the beats were powered by the people, and the enthusiasm? Off the charts.

Our first Green Hustle
Online
In 2020, we launched as an online festival, ensuring that our festival spirit could endure despite global challenges and bringing a fresh approach to climate and nature-boosting action. Virtual workshops, live-streamed music, and socially distanced participatory pop-ups provided an outlet for creativity, togetherness, and hope. With our online community meeting on Reimagining Broadmarsh to cap things off, we helped grow a conversation that saw a brand new park created in the centre of the former brutalist shopping centre.
Keeping the flame alive during unprecedented times
A conversation with Nadia Whittome Mp
In 2020, we took the big conversations online and sat down with Nottingham MP Nadia Whittome to talk about climate change, community action, and the responsibility we all share in building a greener future. Against the backdrop of a world in flux, we got real about what’s at stake—the urgency of climate action, the role of government, and how local communities can lead the way in making a difference.
