School of Fish

2023

As part of the 2023 Green Hustle Festival’s Oceans and Waterways theme, the School of Fish project engaged nine Nottingham primary schools via online resources for teachers to educate and raise awareness of the importance of looking after our blue spaces. This included working with a local artist Sarah Turner to produce videos demonstrating how teachers and pupils could create models of jellyfish and sea turtles by using old plastic waste. Our team then collected the pieces that the schools made and exhibited them on Old Market Square for all to see during our weekend festival. Along with our work creating Wilford Street Wildlife Ramp, this culminated in Nottingham City Council adopting a ‘Motion for the Ocean’ with support from our partners at the Ocean Conservation Trust.
